In John 20:19-20 Jesus after His resurrection surprised His disciples in upper room went through wall of locked doors twice in room to visit them. Despite wall and locked doors its no barrier to Jesus entering into hearts to change matters and situations. No visible or invisible wall, locked door are too strong too thick too hard for Jesus to enter to save, heal and restore lives. He Comfort people who let Jesus enter in. Jesus still knocks on doors of all hearts to enter to save the people willing to receive Jesus. He entered the Upper room thick wall to show Himself to His disciples in hiding . Bricks didn’t collapse or fall apart as the natural law of physics required. Jesus is Lord over physics so the wall remains intact jexactly as built. This was a great surprise to disciples as Upper room doors were locked to ensure disciples were safe. So sad, lonely without Master Jesus, seeing Jesus through wall in locked room increased faith as a trial process of crucifixion in fear for their lives.
Jesus told them to stay in upper room until they receive Holy Spirit to continue ministry in Jerusalem. Jesus appeared to disciples on Sunday evening when disciples meet behind locked doors. Jesus easily entered reinforced room keeping them safe. Jesus demonstrates God’s ultimate protection beyond all locked doors. The disciples were hiding Jesus enters walking through wall appeared to them. The same Jesus walked on water enters through walls. The disciples feared for their lives in case brutally attacked like Jesus. They were in shock so Jesus told Mary who saw Him by the tomb go tell disciples is going to Galilee.
They heard various sightings of Jesus Christ during 40 days on earth after resurrection so not personally seen Him yet. Despite their years of training working closely with Jesus for 3years they still did not fully get Him or remember all He told them. Until they saw Jesus or touched His wounds did not truly believe Jesus resurrected and alive. Having seen Jesus going through process of trials or crucifixion lived in fear. Jesus told them to remain in upper room until after receiving Holy Spirit to continue with ministry. Jesus paid surprise visit to His disciples reassured He is Alive forevermore never to die again.
This important lesson help teach leaders to understand disciples of Christ Jesus did not always get things right. Students of the great Rabbi Jesus, one think will fully understand Him automatically believe what Jesus said. The disciples in fear and in shock Jesus told greeted them, blessed and breathed on them to impart the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ stays with them but departs during His 40 days on earth after resurrection into heaven. Before ascension Thomas touched Jesus’ wounds to believe He is truly alive and risen indeed.
Thomas said until he saw Jesus and touched His wounds he will not believe Jesus is alive and resurrected. Jesus is Alive forevermore seated at the right hand of God in heaven. It is important to understand the disciples told Christ Jesus will baptise them with the Holy Spirit fire to empower them to boldly teach and preach the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the world. Jesus sent them to continue His ministry on earth for Jews and the Gentiles.
Jesus trained them so they have a practical experience of ministry so gained knowledge from Christ. Started little by little precept by precept Jesus tolerates them patiently with a man like Peter one of 12 apostles. Disciples encouraged and motivated again trust Jesus saw miracles worked by Jesus knew how to handle the ministry better. Jesus lets Judas His enemy maltreat Him to enforce miracle of His resurrection. Prophecy about Messiah Jesus was fulfilled exactly as Bible predicted Jesus gave His Life as a ransom for many. He did not stop the process but went through it to the end. Jesus wants them to know He has power to enter locked room so did a miracle like the past. Jesus confirmed and reassures them He is Glorified dwelt a flesh and blood for 40 days on earth after His resurrection. Jesus ate with them, cooked for them by the seaside when disciples went fishing again. And Jesus anointed Simon Peter the head of Church of God in Christ Jesus is cornerstone.
Jesus has a miracle working power the same yeterday, today and forever and Jesus walks through walls of the enemy to rescue you or loved ones in Jesus Name. High expectations in Jesus are fulfilled know God will give you strength and victory in Jesus Name. So have confidence in God for Jesus come through at God’s best time. Thomas knew that Jesus is reliable but doubted due to fear expected to know better didn’t get it right. Jesus forgives on Cross said, “Father Forgive them for they know not what they are doing forgives you.
Jesus forgave Thomas and happy to visit the disciples all reunited after His resurrection. The most difficult and challenging times in life disciples slept or denied Him but Jesus forgave them. Mistakes don’t make Thomas a bad person for expressing true feelings of doubt. Jesus knews they were in fear before seeing Jesus face to face again. Christ is not shocked by Thomas given privilege to touch Jesus’ wounds. Jesus does miracles today for those who believe in God that all things are possible. Jesus says according to your faith so be unto you to be made whole. Be blessed and depend on God’s words in Bible to help increase your faith and Spiritual maturity in Christ Jesus. Blessed are those who don’t see Him but believe in Gospel saved. Know the greatest miracle is personal salvation and all loved ones saved in Jesus Name.
